I started the season off on a high note going 3-1 with my picks for week one. For the record, I realize the only game I got wrong was also the hardest game to pick the winner. I thought Georgia would show up and flash the SEC logo on their uniform, and that alone would have been enough to win the game. I was wrong. Clemson was the anti-Clemson on Saturday. They were the exact opposite of everything they typically are in big games. If Georgia landed a hay-maker, Clemson came right back with one of their own. Oh well, let’s not dwell on one wrong pick…

If only I listened to my wife. I asked her who she thought would win, Clemson or Georgia. She said Clemson “because they wear Orange.” I wasn’t ready to base my pick off of a team’s uniforms, but hindsight being 20/20, I might just have to listen to the Mrs. next time. After all, it’s all about picking a winner. Besides, I’m not too proud to let my wife pick a winner from time to time. Even if she employs her adorable logic of picking winners based on fashion. Thankfully, the games this week aren’t exactly barn burners. As good as the games were last week, this week’s games take a serious step back. I’ll keep the wife and the rest of the fashion police on speed dial the rest of the season. You never know when a well-placed phone call to Joan Rivers might win you that unwinnable game.

Bitch Stole My Picks…

No. 12 Florida at Miami (FL)florida miami

This game would be much better if we were still in the late 90’s. Miami has managed to crack the top 25 of the coach’s poll, but that and $2.50 will get you a cup of coffee. Florida has fallen out of my top 10 and the AP’s. I guess wetting the bed against Toledo at home doesn’t impress me or AP voters. That being said, Florida has enough talent on their second team to beat Miami. The Canes are improving, but they are not ready to beat the likes of Florida.

Florida 34 Miami 17

Navy at IndianaNavy Indiana

This, my friends, is going to be a fun game to watch. First let me say that Indiana is quietly putting together a very good program. Recruiting is up, the offense is lights out, and they finally have the right head coach. Navy is just plain fun to watch. Maybe it’s just my love affair with the triple option, or maybe I just have a deep respect for our servicemen, but watching Navy play football will always be a fun way to spend a Saturday afternoon. I think points will be scored in bunches during this game. Indiana lacks the defensive players to consistently stop Navy, but Navy will have issues trying to stop Indiana as well. This game will be a shoot out and I think the Hoosiers come out on top.

Indiana 48 Navy 43

No. 6 South Carolina at No. 11 GeorgiaS Carolina Georgia

Oh boy oh boy…We’re only two weeks into the season, and this is already a must win game for the Bulldogs. If I were Mark Richt, I would find the person that put this schedule together for Georgia and kick his ass. On the road at Clemson followed by Clowney and the Gamecocks in week two. Lucky for the Bulldogs, Clowney looks like he spent the offseason eating Haagen-Dazs and playing video games. South Carolina was at the top of my pretenders list at the beginning of year, and it’s because they lose games like this. I think Georgia bounces back strong and causes yet another shake-up in the top 10.

No. 14 Notre Dame at No. 17 MichiganND Michigan

I will be rooting hard in this game. I will root for a tornado, hurricane, tsunami, volcanic explosion, blizzard or any other natural disaster to hit the stadium during this game and forever wipe out both teams and their utterly annoying fans. The most disgusting part of this game; one of these teams will be 2-0 when it’s all said and done. The winning team fans will descend into delusionville where they typically spend most of their time anyway. Asking me to pick the winner of this game is like asking me if I would rather vacation in North Korea or Iran. I’ll pass on both, thank you. All that being said, Michigan looked better in their game against Central Michigan than Notre Dame did against Temple. So I guess I’ll use that as my logic to pick this awful game.

Michigan 33 Notre Dame 29
