Olympic Swimming…Yawn

I know I’ve bashed the Olympics quite a few times but here I go again.

Is there anything worse than Olympic swimmers talking shit? Maybe Kenny G playing the national anthem? There might be a few things worse but this is ridiculous.

So, Swimmy McSwimmerson said that no one has a chance against him and that upset Swimmer McSwimmy….oh my god!!!! Who the hell cares?!

I’m writing about it because it is absolutely hilarious. It’s funny because the press is making it a big deal.

U.S. swimmer, Ryan Lochte, said that he’s not going for the silver but instead he is going to swim for the gold. This is shit talking? He should be going for the gold. I’m pretty sure that’s why he’s there. I’m pretty sure that’s why they’re all there. I’ve never heard someone in the Olympics say that they know they’re not the best so bronze or silver would be awesome!

The only thing that he said that could be taken as an insult is when he was discussing his workouts. Lochte said, “No other swimmer in the world is doing what I’m doing. … I think that’s one of the edges I have. All I can say is, look at the last three years. I’ve gotten faster.” WOW! I’m sure Michael Phelps is shaking in his banana hammock.

First of all, this Lochte guy needs to slow his roll. If I’m not mistaken Phelps won 14 gold medals. I’m pretty sure at the last Olympics, in Beijing, he won gold in every swimming event and he may have even gotten the gold in Track and Field. Lochte needs to learn how to talk shit, if that’s what he wants to do, and he also needs to learn when to do it and who to do it to. I’m sure Phelps is somewhere smoking pot, crushing some Subway and laughing his ass off.

Lochte did say one thing that got me a little fired up. Lochte said, “That was just a little appetizer…this is the big show. I wasn’t working for the Olympic trials. I was working for this. I know I can go a lot faster.” Okay, so when it’s not the Olympics you don’t try? Oh wait, he’s not saying that…he saying that he just wasn’t trying his hardest. Wait, what? On a scale of one to batshit crazy this guy is off the charts. Who says that? That’s not shit talking, that’s just stupid.

These are the reasons that the Olympics are dumb. These athletes don’t know how to actually talk trash through the press and when they open their mouths diarrhea comes out. I won’t watch the Olympics but I will secretly be rooting for Michael Phelps to not only beat this Lochte kid but to also rub it in his face. I also hope every other country that has a swimmer in his events beats him too. Last place, that’s what I would love to happen to Lochte.

I only watch the events with hot female athletes in tight gear. And handball.

Why single out the swimming? The entire Olympics is one gigantic yawn.
I’m looking forward to it finishing. Yay!

The Lochte story was in the news that day so swimming was top of mind. You’re right about the Olympics as a whole. I did touch on the whole Olympics in http://juniordsports.com/whos-watching-the-olympic-trials/

The Olympics are over hyped and boring. Thanks for the comment!
