There might only be a few of us in Ohio but I will be rooting for the Miami Heat to take game 5 in the NBA Finals. The Thunder lost another close game last night and are down 3-1. I don’t think that they’ll be able to pull this one out.

I will say that of the four games already played in the Finals, either team could have won each game. The only thing that has prevented the Thunder from winning is their youth. They are a very young team that hasn’t been able to pull out those last-minute wins needed to call themselves NBA Champions. Now their backs are up against the wall and they need to come out swinging and keep swinging┬áin game 5 if they want even a slight chance to pull off the nearly impossible. No team has ever come back from being down 3-1 in the 2-3-2 format. With that being said, the Thunder have to win game 5 to avoid elimination and to send it back to Oklahoma City.

There have been two players who have been most criticized throughout this series. LeBron James and Russell Westbrook have taken a ton of undue criticism in my eyes. If the Heat win LeBron should be vilified but he won’t. The media and all the LeBron haters will still find something to criticize him. I don’t know why….LeBron has been the backbone of this team throughout this series and the playoffs. Wade hasn’t played his best, he’s been playing hurt and James has put the Heat on his shoulders.

Westbrook has been criticized since this series began. That’s funny because he hasn’t changed his game all season. I don’t remember anyone criticizing him during the regular season or even during the playoffs. All of a sudden he needs to change how he plays? For who, for you? Fuggetaboutit.

Wade takes it to the hoop

The media tends to do this with all athletes and all sports. ┬áI personally don’t like it but who am I? According to the media, Eli Manning didn’t have the leadership or the moxy to win a Championship…meanwhile he is sitting on two Super Bowl rings and many still don’t think he is a top 5 quarterback in the NFL.

If the Heat win, LeBron will take his criticism but he can say to all the haters, “here’s my ring, bitch!” He won’t say that though. He’ll stay classy and give credit to his teammates and the fans.

I hope that the Heat do win game 5 for a couple of reasons. First, I want the Big 3 to get their first Championship. I believe it will be their first of many. Second, can we end this NBA season so we can start talking football again? Real football, not this “bounty gate” crap I see and hear about every two seconds. Teams have started mini camps and are preparing for the season. I want to hear about quarterback controversies, fights during camp and even though full contact practices are limited I want to see and hear people getting hit!

Good luck to the Miami Heat and the Big 3. Pull this next game out and win your Championship at home. Do it for me and all of the fans that want to see you win. Do it for all of the football fans that would like to hear about football again and especially for the people who want to take a break from seeing David Stern’s face or hearing his Eeyore-like voice.
