This is going to be a series where I take a look at the box scores and share my first impressions in a stream of consciousness sort of way.  Hopefully it sheds some light on some nuggets you can get from a box score and be entertaining at the same time.

BAL 9 @ PIT 2

Another turd for the ‘Rats.  Chris Davis hits three dingers…Orioles fans let out big sigh.  Liriano not so good back against the AL.

CIN 4 @ WSH 9

Fister acclimating to the NL.  Cueto gives up 6 ER in 5.1 and still has 1.86 ERA…wow he’s been good.  Ross Detwiler has fallen hard.  5-5 night for Span.

DET 2 @ CLE 6

Bauer not outage tonight, although 10 H+BB in 6 a little daunting for future.  Sure looking like Verlander just isn’t right.  Too many pitches in 2012?  Too many tonight taking 116 to get through 6.

Montero another rook getting to know how hard MLB is.  Adrian Gonzalez started hot, got ice cold, and is now hot again with two extra base hits and two RBI; 3 more hits for Puig…damn.  Beckett gives up two HR in win.

MIL 0 @ ATL 5

Teheran bounces back BIG with CG shutout.  6 H, 8 Ks, 2 BB…domination.  BUT, Fredi continues onslaught against 21st Century pitch limits letting Julio throw 128.  Worrisome for fantasy owners.  Gallardo left early, turns out to be possible injury.  J-Up has big night with the stick.

OAK 3 @ TB 0

He’s only stretched out to 5 innings, but Drew Pomeranz is looking like another reclamation success for the A’s, although Rays notoriously bad against lefties.  Odorizzi’s inefficiency rears its head again (113 pitches to go 4.2).  Well pitched game on both sides otherwise.

PHI 6 @ MIA 5

God I hate Jonathan Papelbon.  Gets the save, but not before walking two and giving up a hit and a run.  Capital T TURD.  J-Rol with his 6th homer.  Disco learns a little about the majors.

TOR 7 @ BOS 4

Couple of dingers for E5, 4 hits for Melky.  Happ excellent for 4…too good to be true…but he still gets the win.  Felix Doubront should not be starting.

NYY 1 @ CHC 6

We all had this date circled for Tanaka’s his first loss in MLB…right?  Well, maybe Ziggy did, but that’s it.  The mighty Luis Valbuena smacked two doubles off Tanake and scored twice…also predictable.  The Cubs used 5 relievers for 3.1 IP.

SEA 6 @ TEX 2

That Iwakuma guy is good.  Love the name Furbush.  Kyle Seager always seems to have a good game (3 hits tonight) when I see his name, but he’s hitting 0.236.  Not sure how that happens.

CWS 7 @ KC 6

Pitcher’s Duel!  No, not so much.  Phenom Yordano Ventura with a rough 5th takes loss.  Donkey Dunn with the big fly in the 8th which turned out to be the insurance runs the Sox needed.  Beckham and Gillaspie with 3 hits apiece?  Robin Ventura used 3 pitchers in the 8th…would have been screw if it’d gone to extras.

ARI 0 @ STL 5

One-hitter for Waino!  Of course it was Goldie with the one hit.  Only 115 pitch, too.  After a few good starts, Arroyo back to crap, but he gets 7 innings in.  Holliday waking up?

Romo blows save.  Arenado with game winner and 3 total hits.  Rosario announces return 2 hits, 3 RBI, HR.  Franklin Morales equaled Bumgarner in dueling no decisions.  Won’t see that often.

HOU 3 @ LAA 9

Trout gets night off defensively during slump, has 2 hits, 3 RBI.  Feldman roughed up for first time as ‘Stro.  Freese has one good night in what has been a nightmare season.  Hot/Cold Skaggs hot this game with seven strong on just 101 pitches.

MIN 5 @ SD 3

Kevin Correia gets win…embarrassing for Friars.  Kennedy death by a thousand cuts.  The Padres have 5 regular starters with batting averages of 0.204 and below.  That’s how Correia gets the win.
