This is the interception that was called a touchdown

Just got done watching the biggest bullshit NFL football game of my life. I hate writing in the moment because I get too emotional but this is absolute crap. The Green Bay Packers officially got jobbed. I know Ed Hochuli is working out somewhere laughing his ass off.

Up until this point I found most of the officiating rather humorous. Now I feel a little different. There were ghost penalties, penalties called on the wrong team, and complete non-calls that directly affected the outcome of this game.

The Green Bay Packers lost on the final play of the game against the Seattle Seahawks, 14-12. There were a couple of things that happened on just the last play of the game that infuriated me. First of all, Golden Tate got away with the most egregious offensive pass interference I have ever seen…it was actually worse than the one Sydney Rice got a way with earlier in the game. Second, the fact that the referees, even after reviewing the play, awarded possession to Golden Tate was the worst call I’ve ever seen.

Here it is again…

In the NFL rulebook under Rule 8, Section 1, Article 3, Item 5 it clearly states that “If a pass is caught simultaneously by two eligible opponents, and both players retain it, the ball belongs to the passers. It is not a simultaneous catch if a player gains control first and an opponent subsequently gains joint control.”

According to their own rules that was an interception and not a touchdown. Even after they went under that black hooded peep show to see the replay, they couldn’t get it right. I didn’t know that rule verbatim but I did know the rule enough to make the correct call. They also have a replay official upstairs that didn’t let them know that it was the incorrect call?

If there isn’t pressure to end the lockout of the NFL referees after this game then there will never be. There is a very deep-rooted problem here. The fact that the NFL expected these little league officials to come in and not make these games look like a circus is a joke. Minus the clown car, the big shoes and the red noses these replacement referees have turned this game into a complete joke.

Unable to control a fight on Monday Night Football

Were the locked out NFL officials perfect? Absolutely not. They made mistakes and that’s why replay was brought back. What they did know was the NFL rules. They knew the rules and understood them. They made their calls and stuck to their decisions. They weren’t able to get bullied by coaches and players during the games. If games got out of control with fights and hard penalties they quickly assumed control. That’s what these replacement officials are missing. They are getting pushed around, making bad calls and don’t know the rules.

This is my official plea to the NFL and Roger Goodell to cut the bullshit and compromise with the locked out officials or get new ones that you can make full-time employees. Get them in and make sure that they know the rules inside and out. Bring in strong-willed officials that can make the calls and understand why they were made.

Whatever the NFL does, they need to do it quick. The game that I have loved for so long is becoming more difficult to watch with every passing week.
