There are a few things that I want to make perfectly clear. First, I have been saying for the past two and a half years that the Texans need to draft a QB to replace Schaub. Second, Schaub isn’t a franchise QB. Finally, while many fans are delusional, there are a small percentage of fans that are completely fuckin’ bat-shit crazy.

Just because your quarterback is playing poorly doesn’t give you the right to march to his house and harass him. Just because you bought season tickets and your life is so pathetically empty doesn’t mean that you can say and do whatever your crazy brain tells you to do. Just because you think it’s okay to harass an NFL quarterback and his family at his private residence, I think it’s okay if he comes outside and beats you to within an inch of your life with a tire iron.

Why am I so upset? I just read on the CBS Houston website that fans went to Matt Schaub’s home to berate him for his awful play through the first five weeks of this season. According to a source “A fan went to his house and told him off.” The source also stated that another person “took pictures of his family,” which were allegedly posted on Facebook.

Are you serious?! I know that I have been on Schaub’s case for throwing a ‘Pick-6’ in his last four games, his declining play and the fact that he gets injured at the end of every season but it is NEVER okay to go to the guy’s house and accost him and his family. That’s shit only crazy people do.

No one was arrested because they left before the Houston police showed up. According to the story, it is believed that Schaub called NFL security who then notified the Houston police department.

A quick note to Matt Schaub…although I feel terrible that this happened to you, I would suggest calling the police and then contacting NFL security in the future (if, in fact, the story from CBS Houston was accurate). I would also suggest living in a gated community with security on staff, if you don’t already.

People in this country make fun of crazy soccer fans around the world all the time. It looks like our American football fans just moved one step closer to becoming European soccer fan. Classy move Texans fans…your move, soccer fan.
